Hey, everyone! So, I have been playing for about 3/4 of a year now but am still struggling to find a character. Any help would be appreciated. I have:
- A hard time getting comboed
- a hard time fighting campy characters
- and I tend to grab a lot so a character who won't generally get punished for grabbing

If you would like anymore information feel free to ask!

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks. :)

Who you main should really come down to who you enjoy and feel best playing. If you've played for that long, you should probably have some ideas by now.

Who do you currently play the most, or feel most comfortable playing?

Do you know about DI and SDI?

I have quite a few characters I enjoy xD

I really enjoy playing Peach, Luigi, character that have a little fun gimmick to them, like the float, super jump punch, rest, etc.

I feel comfortable playing characters that I feel have a lot of options. I played DK for a while but to me his options feel to limited and he is comboed very easily.

Also, yes I do know DI and SDI... Though it never seems to work for me, especially out of grabs.

Peach and Luigi may be good picks for you, then. Since they're pretty floaty, they can be difficult for many characters to combo effectively, and Luigi's nair can often break him out of combos very quickly and effectively.

DI is tricky, but keep practicing. Note how people are managing to combo you, or when they can't combo you, and spend some time thinking about what DI could help push you farther away from them in a way where they'd struggle to continue.

They basically play the same as in Melee. Armada is the Peach to watch. Luigi has Vist, Eddie Mexico, Abate and Rofl to name some. I'm sure someone else can name more.

i was thinking samus till you said grab a lot.

then again, if you pick samus, you'll help stem your grab habit =p
Yeah I did look into Samus for a bit. But I did have an issue with the grab plus I felt once the opponent had closed in on my I had trouble reacting.
