--clean up your l-cancels. marth and doc both cg falco; your opponents didn't punish you for it, but most will.

--jc your shines faster.

--edgeguard: you were letting doc back on and then trying to fsmash him. either edgehog and ledgehop a bair or shoot some lasers and go for a spike.

--don't approach w/the dash attack; you used this to close on your opponent too often. it's fine to use at higher damages so you can pop them up for a fmash or a bair, but using it at low %'s will get you grabbed.

--on yoshi's story you often dropped from the ledge wall jumped of the side of the stage and phantasmed. it's fine to mix it up, but that is too predictable and too easy to intercept.

Dude, that's pretty good for only a month of serious playing! I am about the same level as you, I think, probably not quite as good. Some things you might want to work on, in my opinion:

I didn't see any grabbing. If you do it right you can lead into a D+A ground or a shine, which easily starts a combo.

Be careful when you use that forward smash. It's really easy for opponents to read.

Watch your rolls, don't go overboard with them.

Be extremely careful of when and where you use forward and up B attacks. They should really only be used for recovery or in a huge opening.

These are just a few little things. Overall, nice work though.

SHL-Spam it work on hitiing it alot faster and more often it will throw off your opponents and if you work on it will make it easier for you to start combos, grabs and shines. Learn to comfortaly move around a stage while using SHL(I noticed vs Marth you would shoot then roll which will eventually get you caught by Marth's range)

Edgegame-learn to EHDL(Very useful) and just coming onto the stage with a dair/nair

Grab more as said above

Work on Dair spiking right at the edge, very good way to KO even if you take some damage from an incoming Up-B.

Once again JC your shines FASTER, you'll see the difference

Lastly learn to wavedash, I myself have troubles due to falcos different jump speed but I;m getting it and it is very useful

If your friend gets better with Doc your gonna hate phantasm and firebird so learn early never to come to close to Doc during your recovery cause a good Doc like a friend I have will cape you every time

Hopefully this helps, its a lot to work on and I myself and working on most of this as well hopefully you get some help from this

I don't know whos fox you are talking about. >_>;

When playing a Doctor Mario, spam your S-H-L. You don't want to get your pretty blue bird crisp-a-fied by his f-smash. You also want to look out for his pills (I woulden't recommend trying to reflect them, the lag on your reflector leaves you as a huge target, try avoiding the pills by simply jumping over them or waiting for them to cancel out), and shield grabbers. ( >_< ) They tend to just start a chain grab on you and end it with a D-smash or F-smash. I've had it happen to me all too many times before.. The most important thing you have to watch out for is the cape of death. Think carefully when approaching the edge man, change up your style everytime just to throw them off. You don't want to continue approaching with a firebird, it will end all in capes. Try using the mindgames I use on the edges alot, you know which ones I'm talking about. ;)

I know of a few things.

Does your friend use Fox's down throw a lot? Because if you practice enough you can tech roll out of it and avoid damage. This isn't really a combo, but it can prevent him from starting one on you, so it is still pretty important when playing against a Fox. I played against Fox enough that I started doing it without even realizing it!

Pillar, pillar, pillar! Because he's so light, Fox can easily be sent into the air by Falco's shine, where you can Dair(down aerial) him back to the ground and start again, or Bair(back aerial) him when his damage is high to send him flying. You probably already knew all that, but still it's one of Falco's best combos.

Finally, meteor strike! Again, it's not really a combo, but when edgegaurding against Fox with Falco, it is quite easy to perform a Dair when Fox reaches the end of his up B attack. a Bair can also be used instead.

If you knew all that, then sorry, there isn't much more for Fox-specific moves for Falco(that are commonly used and effective, anyway).

Hope I could help!

First off learn to spam SHL, even with fox's shield it throws a fox off use it to approach and I would suggest following SHL into a grab-down throw and down smash or shine to start a combo, depends on ur friends tech ability if you shine JC into a ffdair and then an uptilt or shine whatever the dair allows for

if your friend can shine you for kills then just phantasm or firebird sweetspot/over him depending on your position

Fox is fast so by SHL you can slow him down and stop him from running all over the place

I can't think of any other specific things to do outside of combos but if you have any questions I use to main fox so I'll tell you what I can

and sidenote Pillaring is not dair comboing it is dair to shine against a shield to pressure the shield in hopes of breaking it or catching ur opponent releasing his shield

Most Fox players expect a Falco to approach with a S-H-L or a D-air then either shine, or do a shffl attack. Your Falco could easily get grabbed before you can do either one. How do you solve this? Just grab the speedy animal out of his shield and punish him or use the almighty mindgames! Start shooting the other way then towards him, DD around a bit and if you are close enough just wavedash towards him with the shine or grab [doing the bombsoldier waveland shine that you like works too I believe ;) ], if not then WD back then forth, when you WD forward SH, FF, and grab the fox right out of his shield that is, if he still is shielding. If the fox is not shielding anymore and worrying about what you are about to do next then just pillar him to death or attack anyway you think would work best. There you can start your combo to owning the Fox. >_>;

I'm not sure if this includes my Fox though, you know how he plays and that he's way different than most of the others, but hey he might just fall a victim to this. :)

This is just so you guys know. I can SHL, SHFFL, Wavedash, Waveshine, and such, but I tried not to sound like an *** and say that through all those matches I had to pee like a pregnant woman deprived of a bathroom for ten minutes. That royally messed up my playing and all I was trying to do was ensure a win without having to work insanely hard. You can ask Mindphazzer, too. Right after the match I jumped up from the floor and yelled "I have to piss!" Just so you guys know.

Good Falco for how long you've been playing at a competitive level. What I noticed is you ran around a lot like a chicken with its head cut off not paying attention to postioning and such.

Though as you stated you had to pee like a pregnant woman deprived of the bathroom for 10 minutes.

Post more matches up next month of your progress against your friend and/or other people.

Keep it up, the rest will come in time with experience.

Thanks Cloud. BTW I have been practicing like crazy and believe that I'm about twice as good as I was in those videos; it's a lot of talk for only a week later, but I busted down some walls that were holding my smash gaming back. I haven't been to any tourneys yet, but my friends and I are going to Smash Royale 3... anyone else going?
