So his up+b is to temporarily give him the power to fly... which means he cannot ordinarily fly...

In many of the trailers it will show pit fly up to an airborne opponent and strike at them a few times....

How is this possible? Does this mean that he can attack after using his up+b, or can he fly a little bit before needing to use his up+b, or am i just missing something?

???

He probably will be able to do attacks like normal, but he obviously shouldn't fool around. He needs to focus on recovering before his flight wears off.

Youre just missing something.
Pit has Multiple Jumps, like kirby, jigglypuff and metaknight.
In adition to his multiple jumps, he can also fly freely for a short time and even glide.
His recovery will be exquisite.

Like I said, overused...with a recovery like that, almost every pro will use Pit

It's actually kind of confusing. What we've seen so far are his multiple jumps but I don't think we've seen him "Fly" before. Except in that really vague screenshot that doesn't give anything except his wings glow. Why he can do multiple jumps is beyond me though.

Recovery is hardly the reason pros use certain characters. Sure, there are the occasional pro Samus players and Peach players, but those aren't the two winning big tournaments. Pit may "last forever", but good players will learn how to knock him out of his recovery.

True...didn't think of that...but still, he's pretty fast though, right? I know, speed isn't a determining factor either (look at Pichu), but that, his recovery, and if he has a good moveset...he'll be the most broken character in Brawl

Like Peach, Pit will probably be light to compensate for his massive recovery. I imagine Peach and Pit will have somewhat similar play styles, though I can see Pit being a bit faster but weaker than Peach.

There's a character with perfect recovery in this game already, jigglypuff. Pit doesn't have perfect recovery, even though he'll have good recovery.

Does everybody use jigglypuff? Is she top tier?

No, so why should you assume that a character with weaker recovery will be top tier, just on the basis of recovery?

Most of the characters that's movesets have been revealed has been declared top tier at one point or another, Link, Metaknight, the list goes on. We do not know however, UNTIL the game comes out, because the details make characters top tier, as well as comparison to other characters.

True, Jigglypuff has a better recovery and is less popular, but also keep in mind that Pit is relatively fast, too (watch the vids)...I know he'll probably have weaker attacks to compensate, but still...decent recovery and speed are a pretty good combination

Falco has an absolutely horrendous recovery and he is still a very popular character.
Also true! Keep in mind, though, that I'm saying (albeit awkwardly) that most popular characters have a decent recovery, but I haven't technically said characters with bad recoveries aren't popular:p I'm the last person who'd start a flamewar, so I'll leave it at that...

To be honest, I am far more interested in characters with fast recoveries. Even if a different character cannot recover from as far away as Pit can, I will like the recovery more if he or she can zip to the stage in a fashion similar to the current Fox/Falco.

Yeah, I hear ya, man (that explains Jiggs;)) that's one reason I like Doc...even though he has a slow recovery with a cape and tornado, his third jump is fast and good for sweetspotting

So does Peach, just high tier.

Zelda has a decently fast recovery and goes quite far as well, Bottom Tier.

Ultimately, it's move then just recovery that decides the game, especially if you get knocked out in a single attack.
