Hey all, I guess I can go by Tiggr. Admittedly, I'm a really in and out forum user, so I"ll be a sometimes character. I'm hoping to get into some competitive smash once out of college (I'm in the middle of nowhere so, as far as I know, there's nothing nearby me but friends) and to just get better as a player overall.
I've played smash, mainly melee off and on for over a decade now, though I've never done anything competitive and mainly played with my friends in our basements or whatever. Despite how much time I've played, I'm still fairly low skill-wise, but am looking at getting better. My first smash experience was 64 at a friends house where I did well with Link, but when I got Melee for myself I've tended to stick with Marth, Ice Climbers, Jigglypuff and Dr. Mario. I've started to pick up Falco over the break to work on tech and mechanics, so I'm not so great with him right now. I'm working on it though. I've also played a good bit of smash 4, as one of my friends has a wiiu and we've started to do weekly in-dorm smash tournaments.
I've been going on youtube and watching a ton of tournament finals and such on VGBootCamp for the past few months, so I'm looking at how people do it right, even if I can't do much of it yet. I've switched off between doing 100 stocks with lvl 3's or so and 15 minute training matches to practice, on top of training modes, but if anyone has any better methods please let me know. At this point I don't have that many people to play with regularly. My controller is also over a decade old, so I'm thinking about get a new one (though it breaks my heart).
Hope you all are doing well and have a good holiday season!
Best Wishes,
Tiggr
