I say give it a shot. I dig the fact that the game is more about objective play.Is it good? I watched some gameplay footage, and I actually had a beta invite at one point, but I think it might've expired.
Or does the beta invite expire? I'm gonna have to check on that.
Beta invite doesnt ever expire I dont think, but this is definitely a good game to get into, the learning curve is MUCH easier for new players, especially if you've played other MOBAs before. The games especially fun if you have friends to play with, since the game is entirely team/objective based, and thanks to the face paced, nonstop action, and short length of games, wins feel really rewarding and loses usually arent as taxing as they are in other MOBAs since you arent putting an hour worth of time into each game. I used to be SUPER into LoL, but Ive rarely played it since HotS since I just enjoy this game so much more. Only time Ive played League really since Heroes was when friends needed one more for a 5 in LoL.Is it good? Likely because each match is 45 minutes of their lives.Plus MOBAs in general just seem to attract people who take winning a losing too damn seriously.
I wonder why that is?
12 days later, we've received a pretty sizable chunk of new content, including the Butcher and the Battlefield of Eternity map.We are getting a bunch of new stuff coming to Heroes of the Storm this summer! A new map, and 3 new characters from the Diablo franchise: the Monk, the Butcher, and King Leoric.
Butcher has insane damage output, but he doesn't have an escape, and is quite vulnerable to CC.12 days later, we've received a pretty sizable chunk of new content, including the Butcher and the Battlefield of Eternity map.
So far, I've really liked what I've seen of the Butcher, being able to abuse positioning mistakes and making most of a team pay. As a hero in a MOBA, I don't think that the Butcher is the most useful hero, but as a hero in HOTS, I think that the Butcher could well be considered at least top tier.
I wasn't aware of this until pretty recently, but Overwatch characters have also been confirmed for HOTS some time after the release of Overwatch. I'd love to play as Reinhardt in HOTS, since I'm mostly a tank player anyways, and Mercy would make a good Io (from DOTA) play-alike.Also, Fenix is confirmed as well as some new Starcraft mounts and such: http://us.battle.net/en/int?r=wow
Except, you know, HotS matches are 20~25 minutes long at most. Anyways, nice to see there's a thread for the game here. It is my favorite game of the ~MOBA~ genre. It is fun, requires team work and good coordination and fortunately it skips the unnecessary complexity from Dota 2.Likely because each match is 45 minutes of their lives.
As a long time Warcraft fan, the fact that Blizz kept the WC character's playstyle as close to their original WC3 counterparts is a godsend.Even though the cast is small compared to other MOBAs, they are pulled from games and thus their is a greater degree of hype and sentimentality to it, kind of like Smash (my only familiarity is from Diablo 2/3 and Hearthstone though). Additionally, we've already got interesting heroes like the Vikings who are three separate units and Abathur who hosts other players, minions, and even structures. Leoric, Tyrael, Uther, Diablo, and especially Murky are examples of characters that interactive with death differently. Soon we're even getting a ranked tank in Rexxar. Etc. Overall I'm pleased with the quality of our selection and we're just getting started from what they can choose from.
She's a tonne of fun. Wait for a teamfight to break out, ignore it and take two towers and a barracks.Anyways, I bought Sgt. Hammer yesterday and she is crazy fun to play. Siege mode literally melts structures and wipes minion waves in a blink.
I think Brightwing is a really fun support character, but sadly her healing properties were heavily nerfed with the last patch. Still fun nways, just not as impactful. She's a tonne of fun. Wait for a teamfight to break out, ignore it and take two towers and a barracks.
Haven't got a support yet, thinking I might wait and get the SC Medic. That transport ability sounds fun.
Yeah, Hammer is tons of fun, I have her at rank 10, with her Elite skin. Totally worth it. Sadly, she requires her team to play the protect the Hammer game if she ever wants to do any real damage, which is not something many people understand in solo queue.^ There are also Diablo III's Monk and StarCraft's Medic coming soon, two new support character with quite unique mechanics

You can play co-op online against A.I. It's the mode I play when I am not feeling like dealing with the stress of playing PvP.I started playing yesterday. My cousin wanted to get me to like MOBAs. and recommended I started with this game.
It's pretty fun stuff what I've played so far, but I've only been playing against the AI, too scared to try online.
You don't need to.Don't really have a Co-op partner
