Here's my question

Hypothetically, could they ram 50 characters within smash bros 3ds? Atop of that, would it be possible to have more than ssbb (content wise) without the infinite space that the wii u possess, and still maintain a 50 character roster?

My English and grammar isn't superb, therefore, if you understand where i'm getting at please feel free to contribute as i'm bothered by the 3ds' limitations. I know characters aren't the pinnacle of making a grand game, yet i seem to selfishly desire more.

Oh and i'm glad to have joined your forum!

You can find some comfortably in-depth information on this thread: http://smashboards.com/threads/a-very-technical-question.338306/#post-15659607

In short, you could have many, many characters within Smash Bros 3DS. Over a hundred at least. It's possible that the 3DS version may contain more content than SSBB. Incidentally I believe they will have the same storage capacity (the dual layered disk can apparently store 8GB of data, same as the 3DS cartridge). Since the 3DS version will use less detail and fewer polygons than SSBB, I think it is at least likely the 3DS won't be as limited as Brawl could have been in terms of content, so there is definite potential. So in short, do I think the 50 character roster is possible in spite of the 8GB limitations? Definitely.

Welcome to Smashboards! :D

50 characters isn't going to happen on the 3DS version
He is not talking about whether or not they will actually include 50 characters, or even suggesting it. He is asking if they could.

They could do it. Theres already plenty of fighting games that are near fifty characters on the 3DS anyway. (Tekken)

Don't know if they could add a lot more extra content with the characters though.

Haha thank you! The 3ds exceeding its predecessor is new to me. It's also good to know that somewhere in the 8gb is all you need to make a smash game with a decent amount of content. I'm aware that both games will feature the same characters, but quite confused how the games will be any different than one another. Both games are sequel to Smash brothers brawl, but i predict Wii U and 3ds will not have similarity. To be concise, i awaiting to see the products and their wholeness. I have faith in developing for i have been a fan of the series for awhile now.

And Thank you again, I feel welcomed! :bee:

Welcome to the boards!

The only problem with the 3DS is that it can't handle as many players on the screen as the Wii U. I'm sure they will make it work.
