I've lurked here a long time, and I'm absolutely obsessed with everyone's roster predictions. However, I personally believe these predictions rely too much on rather creepy analysis of a man nobody here has met. Thus, here I will rather predict the probability that any roster here will have one character or another. Due to the fact this list will cover a larger quantity than most, this version will contain no pictures at this point. Additionally, I will not cover confirmed characters, since it is a 100% probability that, if the poster is non-********, that character will appear in the posted roster.
"99.99999%" Probable Tier (These ones appear on every list without fail)
Luigi - Nobody questions Luigi's playable appearance in Brawl. It's pretty boring. Less likely, people predict he'll have his Vacuum, since Luigi's Mansion isn't the most loved game in the world, even though the Mario FLUDD update gave little other option.
Captain Falcon - This guy is taken for granted, and is the most boring one in this tier to speculate about, since nobody even thinks his moveset will change much.
Ganondorf - Between the interview thingy, and the fact that, without Ganondorf, Zelda will have 2 representatives (a horror for the so-called hardcore set this game is supposedly made for), everybody predicts the evil Gerudo guy is in and leaves the arguing to being about Midna and Tingle and Windwaker Link.
King D^3 - With Meta Knight confirmed, and the very important and influential poll placing him first, you can bet almost every person putting him in. **** Straight.
Ridley - People treat him so well because he eats you if you don't.
Much more often than not appear on lists, but at one point or another did or do not appear (About 90%)
Jigglypuff - Everywhere before PT update, then disappeared afterwards for those who were worried about how PT would affect the number of representatives from Pokemon. Also, she has "declining popularity." Now, after Ice Climbers reconfirmation, everyone's got Jiggly rightly back.
Mewtwo - Double above, doubly so, since obviously sucking in Melee means everything.
Krystal - The only reason she's put in this company is some people are greedy with their Fox representatives and leave her out to get both Falco and Wolf, or something similar.
Sonic the Hedgehog - Everyone secretly really wants this guy in, or knows him to be really probable or something. Not sure why, though his popularity on lists has gone down as news of his appearance becomes less and less likely.
Captain Olimar - Everybody loves and wants this guy. Just not all the people.
Mr. Game & Watch - Unpopular among most, against his extreme awesome. I mean, really. Icon theory or whatever makes him a standard, though.
Sheik - People like transformations, and I guess have trouble imagining Zelda without this androgyny.
Happen frequently on lists, but not on nearly every list (~80%)
Bowser Jr. - I've heard this guy in about a million ways, most appealingly with paintbrush. Popular on "These are the ones I think are probable, not the one I like" lists.
Geno - Anti-Bowser Jr., appears in the other way.
S(u)(i)kapon - Most popular Japan-only character to appear on lists after Lucas.
Black Knight - I don't have anything to say about him, other than the fact he's rather popular.
FE10 Girl Whose Name Starts with "Mic" and ends with "ah" - More likely now than the following Fire Emblem characters.
Random GBA FE Character - In order of popularity: Hector (Lyn) Ephraim Eliwood Everyone Else. Roy is counted separately. I might move all these Fire Emblem characters down a tier.
Lucario - Less frequent after combined PT and Ice Climber updates, but still most popular non-already existing Pokemon.
Windwaker Styled Young Link - Mainly because of the radio show, then as a way to forgive re-including a clone.
Wolf and Falco - Usually someone only has one, Falco usually more often due to his previous appearance. I should probably separate them into sepearate entries in lower tier groups, though I should note a small number of lists have both.
Megaman - He appears because they think he must.
More Infrequent, But Still There Often (~50-70% of lists)
Animal Crossing Villager - More accepted now that people have lost the copout ability of Mr. Resetti and Nook only being non-gameplay background.
Isaac - Not much to say, Golden Sun is close to my heart, and Isaac is a character who leaps out to me.
Ray with a bunch of numbers afterwards - I hear this guy is from a popular game series. I really never paid attention.
Midna (with Wolf Link) - People like her, and it's a coin flip once they choose to use her whether she's with Link or not.
Oddball Choices of Note(5%<>50%)
Ness - Gah people want clones now or think logically about Lucas or something.
Tingle - Like yo Momma, I've heard he's big in Japan. People begrudgingly put him on lists because of that.
Almost Never (~5%)
Pichu - Ditto Ness, but even less so. This saddens me, since I orgasmed for the first time in my young life when I found out Pichu was in Melee.
Roy - I only ever see him on lists where the predictor knows nothing about Fire Emblem outside Smash.
Dr. Mario - PAIN MEDICATION STATS
Waluigi - I put him here because he's the one my friends predict the most for some reason.
Paula/Jeff/Poo/Kumatora - The first three are practically gone, since nobody's thinking three Mother guys.
