Howdy everyone. I guess I'll introduce myself here.

I'm a longtime Smash Bros. fan since the day I read about a weird new game recently released in Japan that would be making its way to the rest of the world. That's pretty long, I think.

Anyway, I've lurked around the Smashboards before a time or two. I was preparing for a tournament and found a great thread about Toon Link. It was very helpful. I decided to finally create an account because I plan on sticking around a bit more. I'm planning on starting a tournament of sorts, and I was hoping to find some insights about being a TO here. I already read a great article on the home page, and I saw there's a whole section. Looks like there's plenty for me to read! But having an account means I can also ask questions and seek help, so that's why I'm here. I've never been much of a forum user, but Smashboards seemed like the best place for me to start.

I have traditionally mained Toon Link in Brawl, but I decided to play as Ike whenever I lost a match, and I seemed to do a lot better with him. So I'm thinking about changing. I've not played Project M enough to really solidify a main, but I think it will be Ike and Mewtwo. In Melee... I used to play as Young Link, but I stopped so that I wouldn't confuse him with Toon Link. So I don't know anymore. I never mained as Marth before, but that's who I chose for the last Melee tournament I attended. I also got wasted, but that's okay... I'm not that great on a competitive level anyway. I haven't played Smash 64 for years (or maybe a decade), but I used to main as Kirby.

Welcome!

You're really doing service to the community by being a TO. I applaud them, that's hard work making sure everything is organized, making sure things go according to schedule, accommodate player wants/needs, etc. Definitely wish you the best in that field.

Thanks! I appreciate your comments and best wishes. I haven't even attended many tournaments as a participant, so this is new ground for me.

Hello and welcome to smashboards :D It's always great to have new people specially TOs. I've been attempting to organize some tourneys myself but in brazil everything is much harder. Places and setups are expensive and most tourneys happen online. Wish you best of luck! It's great to the scene when people go further than being just players attending to tourneys or complaining they don't exist.
If you ever want to share your experiences or talk about anything TO related (even rants) you can PM me. I lot sharing information about it.
