Hey everyone, these are really tough matchups for me. Im playing a lucas that likes to pk thunder me while im trying to recover. He uses Dsmash alot and pk fire. The zelda Im vsing overuses the dins fire so I have to approach, I cant use my tornado because I still get hit. When I get near her she just smashes me back and repeats. he also uses dsmash alot.

Is it me or are they really hard matchups?

Any help is appreciated

um yea when your fighting lucas like that you can use and abuse the drop kick. That works and when doing this you can also shot some fireballs. So yea....

Lots of Lucas' attacks have ending lag, such as UpSmash and DSmash, and maybe PK Freeze/THunder counts cuz of the fact that he's stationary.

When he uses PK Thunder, try to squeeze in a fireball; it's more effective than you think when it comes to projectile users. Same with Zelda whenever she spams Din's Fire. Then stun should let you get a few hits in, or if you're lucky, Super Jump Punch.

...Don't try to get near Lucas when he PSI Magnets your Fireballs because the Magnet does electrical damage when he stops it. :p

Yeah, don't underestimate fireballs, they work better than most people think. Try air dodging the Din's Fire and then get to Zelda. Try to hit Lucas while he's doing his PKT. Dodging is another way to avoid the Thunder. When against people w/ attacks like those, dodging is a good strategy. ;)

For dins fire try to get in close because as it goes farther its hitbox size and power increase. once you're in closer you can counter with your own fireballs like everyone else is saying. Most of zelda's ground attacks are slow (except the dtilt and dsmash and maybe the side tilt) so try to SH and avoid those. Also shield grab if its possible but chances are that doesn't really work since luigi slides so easily. No idea what to do with lucas as I have yet to play one.
