Help with textures

Hey guys,
So heres my problem. I downloaded Balanced Brawl to my SD card. Ran it just fine. Then decided I wanted some character skins (which I have never done before.)

I followed the steps exactly from this post http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=225642

When I go to the stage builder, the first time I installed everything for the homebrew channel. However now every time I go there thats all I get, asking me to install again or uninstall (this used to launch Balanced Brawl).

When I go to the homebrew channel, I am finding no way to launch Brawl or Gecko. I need some help.

Do skins just not work with balanced brawl? Is there something I'm missing as far as loading them? If they do not work with balanced brawl, how do I simply load the skins or use the homebrew channel? I am really lost, and not finding much help.

In order to launch gecko os from the Homebrew Channel, you need to have gecko os in the apps folder in your sd card.

First of all, did you make sure that Gecko is on your SD card correctly and installed it correctly? So just double check to make sure Gecko is installed and it's on your SD card in the right spot

Second, it's referred as textures and it pains me to read skins. (Horrible mental image)

Third, BBrawl definitely works with textures I myself design some textures and play BBrawl

OK cool. And so, once I for sure have it installed correctly, how do I "activate" both the textures and balanced brawl at the same time? Please give me every detail or a link to it, I am completely n00b at doing this kind of thing.

well I have time

First of all, you need to make sure that your .gct file containing the codes have both the BBrawl codeset and the File Replacement 3.5 are on. To do this you can download a codemanager. The file you have to open is a .txt file so make sure you download that. You can check and uncheck the checkboxes to make sure that they are on than you will save your new .gct file to the SD/Codes or where ever you put your codes. Once you .gct file is saved, you can put the stuff in the stagebuilder files or since I'm assuming you have HBC you can use Gecko OS to load BBrawl with textures. BTW the codemanager in the guide doesn't work for BBrawl so you'll have to use the link I provided to use a better .gct editor. The makers of BBrawl made the codeset to have the File Replacement in it I think, so if you downloaded that version, your textures should work without editing the .gct file.

Since you followed the steps in the guide, your textures should work. But just to make sure (since this happened to me when I was a n00b) make sure that your file is fit____0X.pcs (__=proper char name and X=the number to replace) just don't forget the fit at the begining.
