Help with Shine Wavelanding to Platform

Hi guys,

I've recently been trying to integrate shine->waveland onto platforms to continue combos and I'm really struggling to get the timing right. It seems like every time I attempt it, I get the "duh" sound effect and a short, visible airdodge before I contact the platform.

My questions are:
1) How high should I be shining? The times I've got it to look fluid I was shining something like halfway through the platform.

2) Do I just need to be faster on the airdodge? I'm worried that since you jump out of shine so much quicker while airborne, my hands are still operating at the timing for grounded waveshines.

Any other advice?

Thanks in advance!

Halfway through the platform is about what I do.

You don't have to have a different timing on the airdodge (I just do the same timing), but it is true that DJ cancelling shine has no jumpsquat so it is slightly different. Remember that the airdodge only happens on a hard press of L/R, not a soft press and it takes time for the button to be pressed down. When I westballz shine I find I have to think that I'm pressing L and jump at the exact same time for the airdodge to come out asap. This way, my L button is already going through soft press on its way to hard press when I hit jump.
