Help with Platform Tech Chasing

So I got the 20XX hack pack on my wii and I have been practicing chasing fox around battlefield, as well as some other things, and I noticed that whenever I get fox onto a platform, specifically the lower platforms to the middle platform, I am not fast enough to waveland grab like most Fox's would do. I know Falco has different airspeed attributes, but I tried to make that work. When I say not fast enough, I mean when I waveland onto the platform, I always get hit by Fox's wakeup shine. What should I be doing to platform tech chase with Falco?

Jump then shine under the platform so the hitbox goes above the platform and hits your opponent. Then wave land, in place is easiest, or if you know which way they'll DI, then wave land that way. This is a great technique for Falco, it can be used on all platforms on all stages. It's not just for tech chasing either. It can be used to apply pressure, or continue a combo. A good example is: your opponent is above you shielding on a platform, you can jump>shine>wave land on platform>shine>jc grab. Basically the options are endless after you waveland on the platform. Hope I explained this well and it helps :D
