Those are called multishines :D Here's a vid tutorial; hopefully visual aid is enough to help out, since I'm completely incapable of these myself aha. They aren't unsafe; they're actually the best options for shield pressure in Melee/PM, as far as I know.

Yeah I know what multishines are I'm a pretty competent Falco, I'm talking about the shines Westballz does with the double shine waveland repeat.

You have to shine as soon as you leave the ground and then waveland instantly so that your air dodge makes it back to the stage smoothly. You're most likely shining too high into the air or not wavelanding fast enough after your double jump.

When looking at the gif his second shine is all the way up there, seems like he's pretty high up.

Then its probably the second thing I said, not wavelanding back down fast enough after your double jump.

Yeah I figured.. the window must be very tight cause I swear I'm air dodging quickly enough but that makes sense.

If you hit jump and L at the exact same time, the difference between going all the way down on the L button and immediately hitting the jump button are enough to make you airdodge quickly. Occasionally, I even hit L then jump, and it works.

Do you know the frame data on JC aerial shines? Like can you air dodge on frame 1 after jumping out? Air dodging at the same time as jumping is helping a lot. I'm getting it a lot more than I used to. My main problem is getting stuck in shine (particularly the second one though). Any idea why this is happening?

Frames for perfect doubleshine dj wl:
1 shine hit
(2-6) hitlag
7 shine
8 shine
9 jumpsquat
10 jumpsquat
11 jumpsquat
12 jumpsquat
13 jumpsquat
14 shine hit
(15-19) hitlag
20 shine
21 shine
22 dj
23 air dodge down

You need to dj out of the second shine on frames 4-5 of the shine (in this list frames 22-23) or you'll land and have to wait for jumpsquat before airdodge.

Edit: Thanks @Tran, I thought this was fox boards lol. I corrected it to falco's data.

Isn't Falco's jumpsquat 5 frames since he has a 6 frame short hop? I'm confused as to why you made it 3 frames, like fox's in that lay out.
