This is more of a me problem than a Ness one. I have trouble with any one who plays campy: just spamming projectiles, or someone who zones: placing hitboxes well. One matchup that I'm despise is the Toon Link/Link one. I just can't seem to get in and when I do I just get swatted away with an attack. Any Tips from Ness mains.

Welcome to the Ness boards. If you have a 3DS, we can exchange friend codes and I'll send you a recent match I had against a Toon Link. I think it will help more because it's visual and you can see what I did against a spammy campy Toon Link. If you can figure out how to get around Toon Link, then Link becomes a bit easier because he's slower in running speed.

I just had a really bad time against Link on for glory. I tried everything to avoid his projectiles, such as perfect shielding, rolling behind him and trying to juggle him as much as i could (i even tried to reflect with the bat d: ). But he always had a solution : grab, f or d-smash, or just rolling back or forward when the situation became hard for him

I managed to punish some of his moves, but throughout a match, he had a huge advantage.

Any tips or replay that could help me? (i didn't see anything in the matchup thread)

If you want throw me your FC as well, I'll send you replays. 1762-3384-3291 You never want to roll around Link. Maybe away from him, but never around him. That's a very bad option for any character. You really shouldn't reflect his arrows, either, because if he sees that that's what you're going to do, he'll bait you to use the f-smash and then fire his arrow after since he can hold it for however long he wants and you can't hold your f-smash for very long.

If he's going to grab, f-smash, or d-smash, you need to bait him into thinking you're going in with a full on strike against him. Once he's left himself open, you can then punish him with any attack. His back rolls are better than his forward rolls, and so, that's kind of difficult to deal with. But if he constantly back rolls, just chase him into a dash attack or grab. Preferably a dash attack since it lingers a bit. Don't really bother trying to juggle him because his dair will just poke through. You can tailwhip him, but it might not be worth doing, especially since Link's dair will pop you up and you can pretty much get KO'd afterwards. Anyway, I only have a 3DS, but the same things should apply.
