Help Setting up Gamecube Controller

Hi! I have set up Project M on my PC through Dolphin. It runs fine when I use my keyboard emulating a controller, however my actual Gamecube controller and adapter don't seem to work. I have replaced my drivers with Zadig, and Dolphin does detect the adapter. It works when playing Brawl, but for some reason, Project M does not register any inputs. Any advice?

Do you have either an official nintendo, or a mayflash adapter? because i'm pretty sure you need one of those
