Smash Wii U Help please.

So I purchased the latest DLC, which includes ryu , roy and lucas, it supposed to have been installed in my console, but the fighters just won't appear on my character selection screen. Is there a specific reason for his to happen?

Try exiting the game and starting it up again. If that doesn't work, follow these steps:

1. From the HOME Menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon and tap "Open."
2. On the upper left of the screen, tap "Menu."
3. Scroll down and select "Settings / Other."
4. Scroll down to the section titled "History," and select "Redownloadable Software."
5. Select "Your Downloads."
6. A list of previously downloaded titles will appear. Select a title, then follow the onscreen instructions to update or redownload it.

There is a code on your reciept that you enter in. This is the case if you brought it on both the Wii U and 3DS.

If just one console, exit the game and start it up again.

Go to Download Management to see if any new content has been downloaded. If not, go to the eShop to check your downloadable content for Smash Wii U. If you haven't updated your DLC yet, you may be prompted to do the update, before you can use the new contents.
