Help playing against a defensive Shiek

OK, before anyone says use the search feature, I have searched and I found lots of useful things against Sheik but this is a more personalized topic.

I need help playing against a defensive, shield-grab happy Shiek. He doesn't use any advanced techniques except for shield grabbing, which always seems to get me whenever I try going on the offensive. What should I do? Should I play Falco defensive by drawing Sheik out with SHL spammage, or should I just try new offensive approaches? By the way, I can pretty much perform all "advanced" techniques, but I'm not that good at them during actual fighting. The Sheik I'm trying to beat is extremely good without advanced techniques.

Thanks in advance.

SHB spamming. and when you close in on SHB from one end of the stage instead of doing a shffld nair/dair do a grab. and simple mindgames like get close then wavedash backwards, dash forward then do it again.

Sorry, but what's SHB? :\

EDIT: Blaster, wow, sorry about that. OK, thank's a bunch. So just SHL spamming and then try to mess him up with mindgames?

Yeah, SHL approach and try to grab him, or approach with SHFFL'd dair and pillar his shield.

OK, thanks everyone.

I can SHL now. The only thing I'm having problems with is L-canceling against a shield. I can never seem to L-cancel against a shield for some reason, I can do it perfectly except for against a shield. Any tips?

Just wait a little longer to l-cancel when you're attacking a shield.

Yeah I always punish my friend's Falco with shield grabs.

Do what he learned to do to me. It's not necessary to L-cancel just aim your Dair so that so you land behind him. By the time he rolls or turns around you can already get some distance between you.

That would be called spacing.. setting your aerials so they cant get you, like Jiggly with wall of pain strategy. But you need to L-Cancel, dont listen to the guy saying you don't need to.
