Hi,
So firstly, I have a Dazzle DVC100. I bought the capture card for about $40 bucks a couple years ago but never really got into the swing of using it. Earlier today, I installed the DVC100 drivers, and VirtualDub, capturing software. I recorded about a 10 minute video, and the first few seconds in the footage was sluggish and the audio was distorted.
The quality doesn't have to look mind boggling, I just want to come out with something people will watch, especially since I'll be generally recording old games...
so, here are my main questions:
1. How to shrink the file sizes?
This wasn't my first concern considering how distorted the audio was and how sluggish the footage was, but 10 minutes was like 10GB, which is absolutely insane -- and to think that every video i would have recorded would come out that large. Is this a problem specifically with vdub itself?
2. Good capturing software for my PC?
I've been trying to find the Dazzle's software because I hear it's great when using the Dazzle, but can't seem to find it. My Dazzle came with a cracked disc when I bought it so I could never actually install it, so I threw it away a long time ago. My computer has a decent (and I'm talking like a 2.20GHz processor) and 2GB RAM, is there good software that will help me get the job done?
Also, when I record my character will sometimes have like lines or something whenever I walk with him, it's kind of hard to explain it...
Quality I'm trying to get: www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9DsAsjuA7Y (I emailed Chugga one day and he said this was done with a Dazzle, so I'm hoping to emulate similar results)
Any help would be much appreciated, guys.
Thanks!
