Help narrowing down potential mains!

Everyone is too good lol! I'm having a hard time deciding which characters to focus on. The goal is to get it down to 4 characters that can balance each others weak MUs well. I know I should focus on 1 or 2 if I really want to see loads of improvement- but a huge part of why I love smash so much is the variety of styles. Therefore, I'd like to enjoy exploring multiple characters playstyles. I main Peach/Jiggs in Melee (secondary Icies- but I truly dislike them in PM) and I'm starting on a rudimentary Shiek. I'll likely carry Peach over.

The other characters I've been playing with in my mind are:
Ivy, Kirby (Prefer him over the Puff I used in Melee), Squirtle, Toon Link (Love him-though I fear learning bomb glide jumps), ZSS, and maybe Ness or Pit.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions on characters!

Play what you enjoy most, no one else can tell you who that is. All of those characters are good (although it's funny you fear toon link's tech but not squirtle's lol) so just keep playing and try to see who you can play a bunch of times in a row, against someone who is better than you and therefore beating you if possible, and still enjoy them. Another way is to actually think about your favorite ways to play and use that to pick. If all else fails just pick 1 or 2 randomly and keep spamming them until you hate them

btw for Floati, i also have a trouble trying to main a single character, theres just so many good choices!!! all i can tell you is that pick the ones you enjoy the most and fortify your skills with them that way it will be easier to focus maining them.

also its better to be ultra good at one character than just average at all. Pick whoever suits your playstyle.

i can play luigi, captain falcon, falco, sheik, link, game & watch, and marth in PM, but that doesn't mean i'm any good with any of them. it just means that i like to switch characters a lot because there are a lot of fun characters to play!!

Yeah that's the "problem" lol The characters in PM are just loads of fun. In Melee, I'm happy just throwing Peach in 90% of my matches because she is the character I have the most fun playing (The only character that I feel I'd enjoy more potentially is Luigi- but I suck with him lol). In PM, so many of the characters are equally satisfying to play imo. Thank you all for the responses
