Help! My controller is not picked up by my adapter when using Faster Melee 5.8.7

Basically the title. My adapter works when I use normal Dolphin, but with Faster Melee 5.8.7, my controller is not picked up. The configure port says adapter detected, but I have no control when actually playing. there is simply no input.
