Help me with learning more about Captain Falcon

I need some help with Captain Falcon, this is my first time actually being serious about smash bros. I am pretty good as him, but I have two weaknesses that I need some help with. I need help with 1. how to start my combos and 2. trying to get back on the ground. When ever I try to dash attack to start one of my combos, they always shield then grab me. I just have troubles getting back on the ground from an enemy air combo.

P.S. I play on 3DS if this info helps.
