I play Fox & C. Falcon, and I'm good at combining, stringing moves together, & punishing bad habits. I struggle heavily in neutral though & DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!! As C. Fox, I try to bair/nair approach, dash attack, shff tomahawk & sometimes dash grab. I don't know what to do when they shield or dodge my approach, then I get punished & they get a fatty combo on me. I don't have the slightest idea how to play the neutral game & that's my biggest down fall. Even when I bait something out from them with a tomahawk or foxtrot cancel, they usually avoid my approach still. I've tried studing Larry Lurr, megafox, & nientono videos to mimic them but it still doesn't work. At low percents it isn't that bad, but once they get to kill percent I struggle EXTREMELY BAD!!! Please any & all tips/advice is very much appreciated!!! :]

Maybe you could post a video in the fox video discussion?

I don't main fox so I don't know specifics there, but it sounds like you're suffering from "tunnel vision". You are focusing too much on your own play (or your character) and technical things, and not on reading your opponent. Doing foxtrot mixups and tomahawks are great IF you have an idea how your opponent will react to them. It's about understanding your opponents habits and reacting accordingly. I'm actually looking for some fox practice, if you want to play sometime I would be glad to help.

Definitely!!! And thanks, my friend told me to never look at my character & to watch my opponent 100% of the time, but it's really hard for me to do that for some reason. My NNID is DaltonHurley if you want to add me

Opponents at KO percents are difficult to close the KO in on with Fox if the keep using shield. Most of the time an opponent will just shield what you're going for, and it makes sense since shield beats most of Fox's KO setup attempts. If this is the case, then my suggestion is to just keep punishing their shield by using grab -> pummel -> throw to climb their percents up. Eventually they're going to rise to a high % where they are going to get KO'd from even an U-tilt or f-tilt. It's grueling, it's not pretty, but it gets the job done.

Think about positioning too. If you're right against the ledge, go for an f-throw or b-throw, if you're in center stage then it depends on what you're going for. A d-throw does the most damage out of Fox's throws, but U-throw will chuck them far above you.
