Hey everyone. I figure some people in the midwest who have been around for quite a few years might remember traveling to one of Joker's Monthlies back in the day, so I thought I would post this here. Joker is still is a really important pillar to our community, and we're trying to give back to him in any way we can. This is just the start of our efforts and I'll try to keep this thread updated on all activities from tournaments, to teesprings to anything that comes to fruition. Check out his story here:

And please share it with as many people as you can! We appreciate anything you can do. Thanks everybody.

Joker is facing a rare form of cancer initially perceived as sarcoma. (It has a much more specific name) A tumor is growing on the nerve of his leg and it must be removed before it could spread to his lungs. While chemotherapy may be effective, it would leave him with a dead and unrepairable leg. It was decided his leg must be amputated for a complete recovery. Currently he is in a lot of pain and needs our support!

It is currently unknown what his exact bill will be. He has had three visits, and will have to undergo surgery and pay for a prosthetic limb. He may also lose his job as it does not offer medical leave. Anything you can offer is a great help. The goal will be updated as we get further information.

Our friend, Christian, aka Joker, has helped the smash community for so long. Joker's basement has been practically a second home for many smashers over the years. Its a hub for games and the birthplace of Joker's monthlies. He generously housed people for extended amounts of time, and over that time so many memories, rivalries and friendships were formed.

When we had just started monthly tournaments we had no idea it would ever take off. Soon people would travel from Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas and even farther just to come to our little basement tourney. We all know Joker feels touched by all the lives hes influenced, even if just a little, and that many others feel touched to have been apart of that. Because of that we reach out to the community who remembers Joker. Whether you remember him as a great tournament organizer, a fantastic doubles partner, or simply an amazing friend. We all feel Joker has been an immense help to us and want to give back in any way we can.

In the future we'll be holding charity tournaments and events as the start of a campaign to garner as much support for Joker as we can. If you can spread this to your friends we appreciate anything you can offer.

To a speedy recovery. We love you Joker!
