Smash Wii U Help? I am terrible at Smash Wii U

I don't really know exactly how to put this, but as the title says, I am horrible at Super Smash Bros. Wii U. I, for some reason, don't have this problem on the 3DS version. I consistently win For Glory battles on there, and consider myself decent player. This skill level doesn't transfer over when I play the Wii U version. I find myself winning about 5% of the matches I play, tend to do terribly even with my mains, and end up getting very frustrated with the game to the point of rage quitting many matches out of pure confusion on why I perform so poorly. For a while, I thought that it was my controller, and playing with the GamePad, GameCube controller, or Wii remote and nunchuck don't seem to make a difference.

I truly am at a loss and it's really frustrating when the sole reason for my Wii U purchase was to play Smash Bros and hopefully enter the competitive scene, but it's been made evident that likely won't be the case. Any advice for me? It would me greatly appreciated.

(Sorry if this is in the wrong area, haven't really posted since the speculation days)

If I had to take one guess, I believe players on the 3DS version may not as good as their WiiU counterparts. In other words, 3DS may have sold more, but the better players generally play on the WiiU. Now how does that help you? it doesn't.

What will help you is simply practicing and analyzing your play, or having someone else analyze it for you. See what mistakes you're making and fix them, try not to autopilot, read your opponent; point is, be aware of what's happening in the game. Oh, and I'm certain you already have, but check out your main's forums, they could give you less vague and more focused help with your play.

Have you tried using your 3DS as the controller? Not sure if that would make a difference, but if you are already so used to it, probably worth a shot

But as Kurri stated, some people are simply better on the Wii U version. I am one of those people. I can't get the feel or control right on the 3DS, but on the Wii U, using the Gamepad or the Wiichuck, it is more fitting for me, and I am much better.

It also could just be a coincidence.
