Help! Game black screens after play button?

I have reformatted the sd card to fat 32, reinstalled, and made sure all stages are deleted. When i go into stage select, it loads project m, but after i press play the game black screens and never leaves. is there something i forgot? I made sure i have just the 5 files for the hackless version. Please help, my friends want to play!

Try loading via Gecko OS instead:

• Install GeckoOS to your SD card (download link, copy the boot.elf from /Gecko1931/HBC/Gecko1931/ to your SD card root)
• Load GeckoOS via the Stage Builder, as usual
• Boot game

I replaced the boot.elf from the hackless version with the downloaded boot.elf but that does not seem to work either. instead, when it loads and i pressed play, it restarted brawl, but it was slightly different, and froze at character select. is there anything else i havent tried?? Thanks for the help either way.

have you tried reinstalling PM?..
