Help finding a converter for dvd to other media types

So we got like 6 hours of us playing but the only program i have to cut videos can only use wmv. video files.

Does anyone know of either a better video editing program or a converting program. (i also have no money so i would like something i can download for free)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks.

Ripp It After Me is a good program to convert DVD: http://www.ripp-it.com/ Tough it doesn't support .wmv, it contain numerous tools to edit your videos and add sounds.

Edit: Um which thing do I click to download because its not in english.

At the bottom, it say "Aller à la page de téléchargement (Download) " that's what you have to click.
