Hey there, I'm Matt. I just got into playing Smash Bros when I got the Smash 4 Wii U on March 2 of this year (Oh yeah, and for some reason I remember random fluff like that.). Being the nub I am, I've been playing a ton of characters, and never really focusing on one. I play Mario, Diddy Kong, Mr. Game and Watch, Toon Link, Sheik, Lucario, Pit, Dark Pit, Marth, Ike, Cloud, Bayonetta, Jigglypuff (one time I beat two of my friends as Jigglypuff in an all-Pokemon match, don't ask me how), Fox, Falco, DK, Olimar, Link, and Captain Falcon. Yeah, I probably shouldn't be playing too many characters at once. Ah well.
Oh wow, I'm stupid. I should probably mention my mains are Toon Link and Diddy.
So I say I'm a semi-casual because when I'm playing alone, I'll do battles on omega stages with CPUs or play on For Glory, but I also bring my Wii U over to my friend's house, and we, along with three other guys, will play with Smash Balls on. And we aren't always being competitive all the time. We'll throw in an all-Pokemon battle. We'll PK Fire each other into oblivion for kicks and giggles. We'll get salty, self destruct, and quit because we don't know how to play a certain character that the random button gave us. We'll play on Pilotwings!
Don't get me wrong, I do want to get into the competitive scene. But I don't think I should go to tournaments until the summer, because it's summer and I don't have to worry about school (even though I'm going into high school next year, yay!). So I figure what I'll do is I'll go on For Glory, play... I mean lose a few matches, I'll upload them to YouTube, and then you guys can criticize me in every way imaginable!
(side note, my brother is spamming Hadoukens as Kirby as I type this.)
With Smash Bros. out of the way, let me tell you guys a little more about me. My other hobby is Rubik's Cube solving. I average about 15.5 seconds on 3x3, 1:15 on 4x4, 2:30 on 5x5, and around 40 seconds for OH. Any other cubers here? I have a competition for that next weekend. Wish me luck.
I also do math... Yeah. During almost all of middle school, I was part of my school's Mathcounts club. I made the team this year, but I missed being the captain by three points in the system our coach uses to determine teams. Regardless, I'm pretty good friends with the captain, but in the most competitive way possible. We often have extremely close scores to each other in any math competition. I've come out on top more often than not, though. At the Mathcounts chapter competition, I came in first place among all individuals, and our team won as well, earning us a trip to Troy for the New York State competition, in which we placed 18th out of 50 schools.
Alright, see you guys around the forums!
