Aaaah, it's about time I made an introduction here, after lurking for like, what, a month or so? Ah well, expect mediocreness and subtle nervousness.
Across the internet, I prefer to go by Dom, and seeing as I main Shulk, I decided to make the godawful combination of Monadom. Original, no?
I've been playing smash since around 10, having received a quasi-legal digital copy of Brawl on my Wii, playing mostly with myself against level 5 CPUs as Lucario, Ike or whoever I wanted. Then, my interest in the game withered, that is... until 2015, I received a definitely legal physical copy of Smash 4 for the Nintendo 3DS. I've been various trailers and footage of the game, but the one that captured my interest the most was Shulk. Of course, playing the game after 4 years of neglecting, alongside on a handheld, was practically my first time playing Smash. I stuck with good ol' Luke, and I was semi-casual semi-competitive. I always like to do 1v1s against one of my (online) friends, but I mostly lost.. that is, until I used Shulk. (To put this in perspective, I received the game around April, and started playing more often around July-August)
Then Shulk became my main, and that's how months later, I tried to understand, play, win and learn more. Of course, in the group of (online) friends, I'm just barely more than a rookie, but I'm still learning, and I'm very competitive.
Why I like Shulk so much? I don't know, maybe it's the constant change of pace with his arts, or his absurbly long reach (Nair comes to mind.) Or maybe it's the memes attracting me to up. Yeah, it's probably the memes.
In another group of friends, one of my skilled and competitive friends (who I shall name Sam) offhandedly mentioned Smashboards, later on, I found out that, well, Smashboards was a very famous Smash forums, though at the time I didn't care much, buuut now I've decided to make an account here.
Do I attend tournaments? No, I'm underage with lack of money or time, I could attend tournaments, but I've only practiced on the 3DS, and I'd like to practice more until I feel confident enough to even step outside.
My skill in Smash ranges from decent to poor, as I make up for my lack of fundamentals with unorthodox solutions. But I intend very much to learn, and meet all the nice people in the threads, honestly, I really want to be able to talk to some of the users in the Shulk threads.
Interests outside of Smash Bros? I'm on Skype, literally everyday. For the last 4-5 years. I RP, which might seem like a weird hobby but I'm just as passionate with as I am with Smash. I'm also Anime/Manga trash, and I'm a very big procrastinator
Fun bit of trivia: I've never played Melee, or touched a GameCube Controller, as much as I want to.
Well, I think that wraps everything up...
