I play primarily PM and I also play a bit of Smash 64 when I get the urge to perform unending combos. Melee disks are so expensive these days and clumsy 12 or so year old me did not take quite good care of my childhood copy of the game so, alas, I watch from afar; even though that was a driving force behind me becoming interested in competitive smash in the first place.
I felt almost compelled to ultimately join smash boards after having this realization of how little I know about the game due to, in part, threads on the PM section on here after Paragon about G&W and how to avoid some of his combos and watching the Smash practice guide on dash dancing. I knew about the underlying mechanics, but these two things really helped me see the depth of this game and showed just how much I didn't know. And don't even get me started on Kadano's and Magus' videos!
If you are in the NYC area, I hope to be able to meet you at Nebulous Prime some time! I have been planning to go for the past few weeks but either something comes up last minute, or I end up having confidence issues (both in playing and interacting with new people) and decide to not go.
I also enjoy fighting games in general, though I don't currently play any except for the Smash titles; mostly SF4 and SF3 Third Strike, and I also enjoy watching Tekken and KOF when I come across it, though I don't follow those games as actively.
I also have a strong interest in math and computer science. If you have strong feelings about static vs. dynamic typing, type theories (dependent types, ML style type systems, or another crazy one I haven't heard of before), programming languages in general, the axiom of choice, or which cohomology theory is your favorite, let's talk about that!
