HI! I'm TheObsoleteComputer!
My computer is not actually obsolete though, but it used to be when I first started using this name.
I just started playing Project M about six months ago, and really started getting into it heavily about four months ago when I lost my voice due to sudden vocal cord paralysis. Because my previous hobby, singing, isn't really going to work out for a while, I needed a new one, and now I'm here. There isn't much of a PM scene in the Chico area of NorCal, where I am located, but I did go to Redwood City earlier this year to participate in the Passage of Gaming tourney there. I haven't gone to an event since but plan to do so very soon.
I main Ivysaur, because the first time I played she was the first character I selected to try out. I thought it was amazing that the PMDT had separated the Pokemon into individual characters and was intrigued. I planned on maining Tink, because I played him when I used to casually play Brawl, but immediately Ivy peaked my interests and I'm still playing her. I'm still not all that great, and have yet to win one of my nine ranked matches on Smashladder, but I'm getting better really quickly.
For years I've checked out threads on Smashboards when Googling for random information about Smash Bros. but I've never been a member until I picked up the game seriously. It's been an extreme help to my game and I intend to be very active in the community here.
Besides Smash, I enjoy watching movies and collecting vinyl records. I'm still just a mere senior in high school looking to make his way in the world, but I'm planning on majoring in music and getting a job as a music teacher down the line. Music is one of my favorite things in the world, and I listen to all kinds of it. From Frank Sinatra to Frank Ocean, I love it all. In the past I have been pretty active in competitive Pokemon battling, but I was never super into it and I was only average.
Although I only play PM as of right now, I plan on picking up Melee in the future. From the limited Melee experience I have, I enjoy playing Doc but that could change when I pick up the game more seriously. None of the top tiers really catch my eye though and I'm kind of worried that I won't be an effective Melee player because I don't want to play any of them
Thanks for reading this giant wall of text I composed about myself, I look forward to meeting some of you guys as well.
And oh, by the way, if you're near Chico and are down to play some Smash, PM me like now :D
