Hello everybody! My name is Toni,I'm 13 and turning 14 this September the 13th,and I just got into competitive Smash.I live in Romania,a very poor East-European country, and the only console I have is a Wii,I got used for 100$(the lowest you can find in Romania) I modded it because games costs 100$ too,and after my sister got me SSBB for my birthday I downloaded an American ISO so I could play Project M,then,I realized how competitive Smash Bros. is,so I got this emulator "Nintendont" for Wii and got SSBM,and I also have SSB64 on VC.
So my question is:Can anyone actually help me become a "pro",because just reading online about tier lists, rulests, etc. won't help. Also I forgot to mention,Marth is my main.

Welcome to Smashboards, Toni. Nice to see a fellow Marth user :)

Anyways, there's a lot of work that goes into become a pro, even high-level for that matter. Reaching that level is not something people can exactly answer in a post or two, mainly because the majority of people here are not pros themselves. However, a lot of practice and truly trying to break down the game will take you a long way. If there is a scene in your area, I'd recommend that you try to join it so you could have some live people to practice with as it's a completely different experience compared to playing CPUs all day. Since you seem like you'd be interested, check out this beginner's guide to competitive Smash as it contains a lot of information relevant to what you're aiming for.

Other than that, I'd check out the Regional Zones forum to see if you can find anything about Smash going on in your area or at least an area that's not all too far from you.

If you can't find anything, looking into playing Project M/Melee online would be your next best thing if your connection is alright.

Hopefully things work out for you!

Just as Hokori has said being "pro" isn't something you get overnight. You have to fight for it and continue to fight for it. There's so much to Melee/P:M that even a hundred posts wouldn't cover it. Study, practice and study some more. If you like Marth then you're going to want to study M2K/PPMD for what they do. Slowly build up to their movements. Incorporate those movements in your game over time. Eventually you'll be able to move into the combo's they do. From there it's all about learning the tech skill needed, and knowing the Match Up's from back to front! Good luck!
