Hi everyone I have been lurking in smashboards for about 2 months now, and I'm really looking forward to meeting new people and battle partners!
A little bit of history of me getting into competitive smash. I only used to play with my family in Brawl. I discovered rolling and thought it was pretty hip. I only played with 5 stocks and smash ball on. This is where I took a liking for Wario, Pit, DK, and Lucario. However using the wii remote has made grabs very foreign to me.
Soon my school had a SSBB tournament, I was like "hey cousin lets show them our stuff!" Long story short, I lost in round 2 / 4 (3 stock no items). My cousin however lost in the final round to a DIDDY KONG. That player was wrecking everyone with his bananas and grabs. I think that player was ranked #7th in the state or nation or whatever. This inspired my cousin to go competitive and he discovered chain grabs. I pretty much fell into obscurity for the remainder of the SSBB period.
SSB4 came out and I finally improved. Implementing air attacks, grabs, edgegaurds, and reads. My cousin got only better but now I can at least beat him 1/6 times lol.
TL;DR: I'm not a hardcore noob anymore.
I use a bunch of characters in smash I'll group them in trios; first group being the ones I am most confident in and last group the ones I use only for having a good time.
Wario, DK, Palutena - Link, Bowser, Pit/Pit2 - Ganondorf, Lucina, Lucario - G&W, Shulk
I have brushed up on the character forums to see all the tricks and combos they can do.
I am currently learning Shiek after getting mauled by a good fox player. I also use the 3DS controller cuz cheaper.
I'm having issues with good DDD, Megaman, and Fox players. I also tend to roll away too much.
Enough about me. How about you? I'd love to learn your history of turning to competitive and also how to deal with those 3 characters.
Once again, this is boost4u saying hello, and I can't wait to hear from you!
