I was thinking this the other day that what if Smash had characters interact with each other before/mid/after a battle like a rival fight or something. Think about it, we have this colorful cast of characters but don't truly know why they fight each other except for the characters from the same series, the PG or side comment from fighting the character from the SAME series (Lucina vs. Ike or Marth or Robin, Pit vs. Dark Pit). I wish it was kinda like Street Fighter 4 where when you fought a specific opponent they would have a little cutscene before fighting. I'm not saying all of them should have one but at least some of them. I already some characters who they could do this with:
VS
LUCINA vs SHULK
I'll be literally honest; I know NOTHING about Xenoblade's story and since I'm planning on getting Xenoblade Chronicles for the New 3DS, I don't want to look at story spoilers. However, I do know that part of his story is trying to change the world's fate with the Monado. Lucina (spoilers) is trying to save the world (and her parents) from a doomed future from Grima the Fell Dragon by changing the past. They're not so different in terms of goals. It would be interesting to see how they interact with each other.
VS
DUCK HUNT vs FALCO
This one is more of a funny story. The duo is just walking along and see a can (the same can he uses in smash). The dog inspects the can before promptly kicking it. Out of nowhere, a couple of blaster shots hit the can keeping it in the air before sending it flying. Here we see Falco lightly boasting about those shots before putting his gun away. The duck get a little startled while the dog isn't really moved by this. After commenting on how the dog's face looks like General Pepper's, Falco shows off his aiming skills again by grabbing another nearby can shooting it in the air. This time the shooter, the third member of Duck Hunt, shoots the can instead, puzzling Falco. the shooter keeps it up in the air for a while until it misses a shot, causing it to fall right on Falco's head. This was very painful to Falco, but very funny to the dog as he mocked him with his infamous laugh. Falco, who doesn't take kindly to being laughed at, fires a blaster at the duo to only have it hit a clay disk the dog thew to take the hit. This, of course, prompts them to fight while the duck just sighs.
I'll still thinking of some more. :D
