So I've finally decided to post my very first userblog...I've been a member of SWF for quite a while yet have never bothered making one of these. Something today however pushed me to a point that I felt the utmost need to make one...now, before I begin, this blog isn't entirely serious, I could easily talk about more serious matters or more important things in my life, but I'd much rather discuss a pain that maybe a few of you can relate to me with.

It all started today, just a few hours ago in fact. I got the absolutely awesome idea that I would do a Mega Marathon; just full on tackle MegaMan 1-9 (don't own 10 yet) in honor of 10's release. Starting from the ground up, I booted up Anniversary Collection and picked Mega Man 1; a game I -HAVE- beaten before but haven't played in ages. Quickly making my way through the Robot Masters (Cut, Guts, Elec, Ice, Fire and Bomb Man in that order), I finally made my way to Wily Stage 1. Navigating my way through the twists and turns of the evil doctor's fortress, I skillfully dodged giant cycloptic robots, living missiles and deadly spikes. I had made my way to the boss' lair...unfortunately...I forgot just who ruled this part of the castle.

Yellow Devil.

Vaguely adorable in his Powered Up chibified version. A true 8-bit nightmare in the original. Not even the legendary select glitch would save me from this beast; Anniversary Collection so slyly removed it...

So I faced off against the hulking beast; Mega Man vs. the true form of evil. But of course..it's not that simple. The monster somehow predicts your arrival; he strikes from behind! Try as I might to dodge his pattern, he slays me with ease. An extra life fortunately saves me, placing me outside the arena. I bravely venture in once more to fight him, dodging his body segments with the skill and grace of some kind of ninja or something. I get nervous; bam! Lost a chunk of health. I aim my Thunder Beam at him and fire off a shot...it does less damage than he's done to me; he has the advantage right off the bat.

This continues on for about a dozen or so extra lives; every time I lose thrice, I'm forced to repeat the nightmarish level before him meaning he takes his first kill with ease. Try as I might, I cannot defeat the Yellow Devil. The blue game over screen flashes up once more and I realize I am defeated. Single-handedly, Yellow Devil has crushed my hopes of a Mega Marathon.

And so fellow SmashBoarders; this thread is for you. For every one of you who has fallen to this yellow fiend. For everyone who has seen their Blue Bomber explode with just a pixel left on the foe's health bar. This is for you, victims of the Yellow Devil.

Rock on, Rockman.

That's what stopped me from beating the first one :(

That sucks, I love Mega Man too and wanted to play through them in order when I got Anniversery Collection, but the Yellow Devil got me.

I know how you feel, but you musn't give up! That's the only way you can beat him! Keep fighting! Memorize his pattern! And you will do it, that's a promise!

Rockman forever! (that's not me btw)
