I can't seem to get the timing right, even when I just mash b I only seem to get it half the time. When exactly do you do it? Right before he jumps? Immediately? Right after he jumps? I am completely lost and any help is appreciated.

I saw the thread from a few months ago on this same topic, but I still didn't get it and I wasn't sure if I should make a new one or bump that one.

It's supah hard to get it, but there are three different lengths. You've got regular, halfway, then completely stopping. They're all really hard so just keep trying it. They're both before he jumps, but still fractions of a second before

I guess it's like short hopping, just practice.
So for a full cancel you have to press it earlier than a half cancel?

Later, the earlier you press it the longer it'll go. So if it lasted 5 seconds and you cancelled at 3 seconds, it'd be halfway. If you pressed it at 4 it'd barely move. That's obviously not the timing, but do you see what I'm saying?

I get it. That explains why my mashing didn't work well. Thanks.

You can get it easily if you practice it every day. The shortest shorten is the easiest to execute, and the 3rd length is the most difficult. Press B as he's doing the flash, so be ready to press as he's squatting. I was thinking of doing a video covering this, but I wasn't quite sure what people wanted to know.

Showing me the frame in the animation I need to press it on would be very helpful.

Going to training mode, putting it on 1/4th speed and zooming in on the character seems to be working for me.
