Every single game I put on For Glory I lose. I can't figure why. I'm looking for a buddy, maybe someone better than me, (which is anyone) to maybe practice with and get advice from. I like to main Fox, Ness, Cap Falcon, and Mario. I like to use a lot more too. I really think it has to do with the online input lag. I can't time anything or land any hits half the time. Thanks for your input.
Edit: I'm on Wii U and my NNID is: Att0rneyatlawl (0 = Zero)

If you're having that much trouble on for glory maybe you've developed bad habits? Are you being punished for rolling too much or whiffing hits? The easiest way to tell what you're doing wrong is to re watch your matches and see which moves you're missing and which moves your opponent is punishing. If you find you have a bad habit condition yourself to do it not at all or less during the next match you have.

If you need someone to practice with my NNID is RBreadstik I'd be on around 4pm to 9pm eastern standard. I'm not the best player but I've got a pretty good win rate on for glory at least so maybe I could tell you what you're doing wrong.

Okay I'll definitely add you tomorrow and maybe we can play some matches. :) Ya it's really hard for me to play online with the input lag. There is a solid split second between when i input a command and it actually happening on screen. I have lots of experience playing all the smash games with friends but I'm just now getting into online play.

Cool man I'll always be on around the same times. Ya online input lag is a major pain one of the best ways to tell is bringing up your sheild and seeing how long it takes to come up and then down compared to offline

you simply dont understand what you`re doing wrong. Learn more about the game, everything you can, learn about spacing, neutral game, good recovery, at`s,frame data, combos, situational attacks, etc.

Once you have a better understanding of the game it will be easier to spot out what kind of mistakes you are making.

Don't take For Glory to heart. Seriously, in a game that relies on reaction inputs, playing online - where lag from your end and possibly your rival's end - is not the best way of judging your own skill.

Even if you have a good internet connection yourself, the other player might not. Since Smash runs matches on a "peer-to-peer" connection, it's dependent on both your end and your opponent's end. So even if you seem to get a good connection, there might be minimal lag. And even the most minimal of input lag can affect the outcome of your match, such as messing up a powershield or mistiming your recovery (which is very, VERY important for Fox).

EDIT: with that said, what the other players have posted isn't wrong. Reviewing and reflecting on your playstyle is something you also should consider. Ask yourself questions like: why did I get punished there? How did my opponent dodge that? Saving your replays (those that don't have lag) and analyzing them can help you out with this.

That's what I feel is the main problem here. Offline I can be competitive. Online I'll dash forward and shield and before my shield even comes out I'm getting hit. I just see some players making very precise and accurate movement when I feel I'm treading water. Do these players just get used to the input lag?

This is only online I'm talking about. I have a very good understanding of the game as I've played all of them for many years. Online with this input lag it is impossible for me to space properly at the moment. I've only been playing online for a week or so and I can feel like I'm getting better but I mostly just get boddied and I don't feel like it's entirely my fault. Hitting down B as fox to reflect mega man's fully charged forward smash and nothing happens and I get smacked across the screen. Input lag.

Okay awesome. I feel like I tried that name too. I tried everything close to what you originally said to see if you had made a typo. lol. I was just on for a while, I'll add you when I get back on. I should be on all day tomorrow too because I'm off work. Do you have skype, or teamspeak? Would you like to communicate in any way while we play some matches?
