I have a PNY 2GB card that I've used for years so I don't imagine that would be the problem. Is the slider on the card in the locked position?

Unless the top part is the locked one, then I assume it isn't I even tried both of them.

The card is locked if the slider thing is in the downward position and unlocked if it's in the upward position (in other words, towards the part of the card that sticks into things).

Okay, then are you even using the current version of PM? It has its own launcher that should be coming up instead of Gecko.

I have everything installed, and there is still the cross mark on e SD card. When I click on it, it says unable to save data on the device inserted.

I'm uncertain of what you are trying to save. Replay data, you mentioned? What's that got to do with running PM?

Either way, if the card just isn't being read by the Wii in any way at all, it might be worth reformatting it. Should be able to do that by right-clicking on the card when it's inserted in your computer.

what should i format it to?

File System:
FAT32, NTFS, FAT, or exFAT

Also, does it matter on the allocation unit size? the current one is 32 kb

btw it says the capacity is 3.73 GB but it is a 2GB sd card

What I did that finally solved my freezing issue upon startup was removing any name youve placed on the card entirely. Select rename if you have a name on the card and hit backspace then enter. That should give it the default name, "removable disk." Last, reformat to 64kilobyte allocation of FAT.

Set it to 64 kb, changed the file to FAT. Inserted the sd card to the wii, unlocked, and when I go to stage builder, it just loads a bit and then goes to stage builder, no stages and it still shows the x sign over the sd card. I really want to play project m please help!, P.S the name was already removable disk

I'm the exact same position as editorial, help us!! I did everything the installation said, but when I go to stage builder it just loads the stage builder. There is a little red circle on the SD card option saying I can't save to the device inserted into the SD card slot... I have a PNY 2GB SD card as well... What's not working!?

I believe you could have a faulty sd card, did you try re-downloading the files? If that doesn't work, get another sd card and try again.

Try another sd-card, I read somewhere about PNY SD Cards being 4GB instead of 2GB. Check with another SD Card.

Haven't ever tried it myself, but I've heard people recommend using SD Formatter (Windows/Mac) to reformat the card. If it asks, try Fat32 with 32kb cluster size or whatever. The program is made by the designers of SD card technology, so if this doesn't help, your card might be physically damaged.

After the card formats, make sure you've downloaded Hackless Wii ZIP (Full Set). Only version 3.01 and up has a launcher compatible with SD cards greater than 2GB.

If it doesn't work, maybe take a screenshot of the root of your SD card (the list of files that appear after you open the SD card from My Computer) or write up a list of the files and folders you see in just that window. That information may help narrow things down so we aren't left guessing.

It's definitely the SD card. I had hate same issue of Project M not loading. I had it working on an old SD card before 3.0 released but when I updated and tried to use that same card, it would not work no matter what I did. I eventually tried using a different SD card, and it worked perfectly on my first try.

I would recommend just purchasing a brand new one.
