Remember back in 64, when Fox was an A ranked character, Or who could forget in Melee when he was the Top tier?

In Brawl, he was slowed down and took a back seat to Meta Knight and Snake.

And now, in SSB4, he takes another back seat to Sheik and ZSS.

Is Fox going to take the back seat again in SSB5 or still be the king like he was in Melee?

Fox is likely high tier in this game, I wouldn't worry about that.

Fox is better in this game than he was in Brawl mostly due to the almost universal removal of 0-death chaingrabs, which made some of his matchups unwinnable.

Fox is incredibly viable in this game, and a common candidate for top 10 this time around. He's shown plenty of effectiveness competitively, raked in results, and honestly his only really distinct flaw is his frail nature, which has always been the case.

Too early to tell anything about the meta and tiers. The best players and tournaments are yet to sink in and we are in a feel out stage. The meta going into 2016 will be vastly different from now I bet.

OK, but he still takes a backseat to Bowser and Wario and Falco.
I'm talking about the tier list, Meek Moths.

No you are not, I just made a mistake.]
Could somebody close this thread , please.

I certainly hope you haven't been listening to scrubwiki's discussion section on the Fox page. Now that's a place full of scrubs.

Well, I say he's not as viable as before. Most Fox users used Reflector aggresively, and jumps out of it.
This game doesn't allow that, so that's that one.

But there's one thing every smash game has in common.

Speed is kind of very very important. And Fox's speed is not just about running, but also about attacking and recoveries.
If his atacks get's outprioritied when clashing, he just needs to hit even earlier. :v

In Falco's case, though. I think that not being able to laser cancel really killed him good. Fox got lucky his laser is derp to begin with. :v

It wasn't, laser land cancelling combined with short hops gave Fox a way to continually add percentage, it was amazing for forcing opponents to react.

Now, all his blaster is useful for is forcing approaches from opponents who are too far to punish the lag. Still useful for what it does, but a shell of what it used to be capable of.
