Has anyone unlocked toon Link?

Plenty of people have unlocked him, although I haven't seen anything about how to unlock any characters aside from Ness on the dojo.

But you can unlock all characters simply by playing through SSE if you wanted, that isn't quite as interesting though

Agreed. It kinda sucks. I don't want to unlock characters through SSE.

I wish you could turn that off.

I think I might unlock EVERYONE BEFORE I play SSE, otherwise it'll be way too easy and not interesting enough.

Shouldn't be too difficult.

With Ness only needing FIVE brawls to unlock (I think Jiggles needed 250 in melee) it should be easy and fast to unlock EVERYONE simply by playing the game with your friends.

Pretty ironic since people were hoping characters would be harder to unlock and we will likely unlock all of them in the first few hours we play... first day at the least.

Ask in the Toon Link section, they'd probably know better than anyone and it'd be more appropriate.
