Look closely. Many of the veterans to the Smash Boards probably have. It seems really cool and i thought i should share it with with my fellow Smash Bros. Let the rumors run rampant and may all our dreams come true.

My first post goes into this failure of a thread. I guess that's pretty cool.

I'd just like to point out, to anyone who seriously believes the clouds show those characters, that it has been scientifically proven that our brains love to find patterns and images in randomness, and that we think that those images are there on purpose.

For example, after seeing a random inkblot (not a Rorschach test--those are actually drawn by people) that happens to looks like a face (our brains are excellent at finding faces in everything--a large part of our brain just looks for faces), we decide that someone must have made the inkblot that way on purpose. The fact that we see faces (and a master hand) in the purple clouds is not surprising, nor is it surprising that we assume they must have been put there on purpose (which is necessary for it to be relevant).

It is possible to make clouds or smoke or steam or whatever particle effect take on a coherent image. It actually isn't that hard. But, looking at the picture of the purple clouds, it doesn't seem like the usual technique for doing that was employed (or any technique for doing that). There's just too much noise and not enough form for it to not be random.

PsychoIncarnate's picture a few posts up almost seems like good evidence--all the bad guys in smash blowing in on a purple cloud of doom--until you realize how easy it is to add lines to a formless fog and make it look like something. You'll notice that the hand in the middle is a huge stretch. The lines making it up are not echoed in the clouds. In fact, all of the objects are just as improbable, but the faces seem more realistic because the human brain finds faces in everything. All you need is two dark spots (a mouth and an eye) to make a side view of a face.

I don't know how necessary this was. I mean, does anyone actually believe the clouds mean anything? I guess it would be fun to look through all the official brawl images, searching for clues and hidden images. That sounds like something the obsessed would do. I just wanted to tell everyone that it doesn't really mean anything.

This was a joke thread...People actually believed this theory like a month ago for like a week until it was disproven
