Has anyone noticed the DI Indicators?

In the second trailer, the hitsparks when you hit someone give off a brief flash that signals the direction in which the opponent is thrown or DIs (most noticeable when Kirby upsmashes Link and Mario). Could it be useful?

This is a nice find. A year later and someone's found something new. ;)

I've noticed some other things about it. Punches and kicks have a conical shaped one, swords have a boomerang shaped one, and explosions (Mario's forward smash and Snake's RPG and hand grenade) don't have one. The size seems to depend on the strength (the stronger the bigger).

Definately an interesting find...

I also noticed the conical ones mostly from Mario tornado's final hit, But I didn't notice the color difference. In fact, when Zamus hits Link, the ftilt sends a blue circle on the left, then when she upsmashes the first hit signals that Link is thrown towards Zamus' head, and the last hit sends him upwards! Cool find too.
