Has anyone considered rigging Pichu's Brawl Trophy Model?

I've only seen two models of Pichu that look half-way decent or better that are over Pikachu on the Vault. Plus, since Brawl - 4.0 is out, this would be a good opportunity for people aiming to balance that PSA for Project M to use a model for Pichu that's already in brawl... as a trophy. If anyone out there who knows there stuff and wants to try this, then by all means: Go For It. I'm just surprised that no-one has done this yet. :p

Wasted 15 minutes to confirm something I already know.
Brawl Trophy Pichu has less verts (and facepoints, I think?) than Melee Pichu.
No reason to tpose it and then rig it, tbh.

Oh, is that why...? :/ Sorry then, I just wanted to know why no one used the Trophy model, I always noticed that the current Pichu models have something off about them (I think I have an usually good eye for noticing things). I mean yeah while the Melee model is pretty good, it has it's flaws as well (those mysterious dark/light spots for instance, or how weird the mouth looks when animated sometimes). So if no one uses the Brawl Trophy model, then why does no one use the X/Y or OR/AS models for Pichu that I know off?

Edit: I realized that having a good mouth for Pichu is easier said then done, so why not just have textures for all the necessary emotes on lower poly models? IIRC, Smash 4 3DS uses this to some degree...

Biggest problem with Pichu is how ripping for Melee is really difficult. It's not like brawl or smash4. You have to export the model in a certain pose and tpose it manually. The fact it was even done at that quality (talking about Boygos and Nano's), is impressive. Hell, even compared to current standards it's awesome.

What about the model from vg resource? (the hub site for spriters resource, there's a modelers resource section that has a Melee Pichu model as an .obj file)

Edit: this one.

The issue with Gen 6 models is that the mouth isn't modeled, its textured. So unless someone makes custom texture animations for Pichu, the model will have a static mouth.

The Melee model is probably the best its gonna get with a quality import.

What goes into giving characters custom texture animations?

Also now that I realize it, Brawl Minus' Pichu has a pretty good model (the weird lighting spots are pretty well hidden under the head). The mouth needs to be animated better, but it's overall a pretty good model.

They use my Melee Pichu import iirc.

Every Pichu model I have seen so far grows to the size of Pikachu when shielding or when rising from a crouch.

Wait, the one on the vault (yours) has the weird lighting spots... How in the world did the Brawl Minus Team manage to fix it as of 4.0b afaik?
When I first did the model, editing normals (how lights hit a model) wasn't really a thing yet. They probably have a modeler that fixed it since I first imported the model.

That could explain alot... If you had the time, would you ever decide go back and reboot your Melee Pichu import?

Doesn't currently happen to my knowledge in Brawl Minus 4.0b (with their psa at least)...
