Hey, I'm curious to see what people think are the hardest SNES games. I have three.

1. Super Ghouls and Ghosts

2. Battle Toads and Double Dragon

3. 7th Saga

These games were so intensely hard!

Smash TV is definitely one of the hardest.

I used up nearly all (if not all) of my continues by the time I got to the first boss. It wasn't until I actually beat the boss on what I think was my next playthrough that I realized he was a 7 form behemoth who moved around in a tank shooting lasers at you. I kept wondering when the guy was going to finally die, I've never fought a first boss this hard.

Now to deal with the second boss...

I didn't actually think Super Ghouls and Ghosts was all that hard.

I mean, sure you died in two hits, but if you tried hard and practiced a bit it wasn't a HUGE deal.

Overrated difficulty.

I didn't play very many.. but I think The Legend of Zelda was pretty hard. Let me get out my box though so I know all the games I have for it..

edit: Here's a good list: It's either Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (no joke) or Kid Niki: Radical Ninja.
I was small at the time so that might be a reason why they would be hard.

Batman Returns

It may have been hard because I sucked at it but Batman Returns for SNES was very challanging for me. Catwomen was so hard and when you fight the Penguin at the very end of the game he has soo much health. I remember when I fought him that we both had one full life bar left. If I lost mine first I lost the game, if the Penguin lost his I beat the game. Fortunately I saved myself from getting pissed off and beat him in the showdown, but not by much.

I thought it got really hard later on. Plus it doesn't help that you have to beat the game twice to get the real ending.

Ya, I was playing Battlemaniacs just last night, and I got so pissed cause I keep getting killed by the guys after the bridges on the first level. I can beat the first level of Super ghouls and ghosts, but that is only on a really good day.

I'm adding draken to my list of crazy hard games. Things i learned from draken... Water kills EVERYTHING, and giant panther heads that shoot lazer beams out of the eyes are not to be messed with.

Dennis the Menace on Hard mode with no Rest on, that game is ridiculous hard to complete in that mode, even if you put Rest on 7. Easy mode has a little challange to it.

Contra 3 on hard mode still gets me to the point of breaking my controller.

I finally beat Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow today which is a Donald Duck game where he turns into a NINJA. Game was hard man.

Smash TV is way hard.

Battle toads in battlemaniacs, that game without save states is a pain in the *** o_O
THIS. Without save states I can only make it as far as the 3rd level, the bike level with insane jumps and walls. With save states I can make it as far as the "roller coaster" level with that guy with the buzzsaw chasing you, and you have to press every direction correctly as one slip up and you'd have to start again.

That game was beyond difficult.

Lol.

Play some Super Mario World hacks (like Kaizo Mario World).

But if you're talking about non-hacks, I'm not sure. >.>

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 is the hardest I've played so far. It was neverreleased outside of Japan, unfortunately which means you have limited access to it =(

Yes, there are patches but they aren't 100% complete. It's perfectly playable though and very enjoyable :)
