If I for like 3 hours straight, like in a tourney, my hands would start getting really sore (feels like arthritis or something). I'm new to going to tournaments and stuff, and I main Falco; don't know if these have anything to do with it. Is there anything I can do about this?

Try not pressing the buttons so hard. When l started, l used to hit triggers hard and mash buttons unnecssarily.
So if this is the case, then learn the timings and tone it down a few.

Oh and try puff as secondary. She covers your bad matchups and is the least technical.

^ Press the shoulder buttons as lightly as possible inputting a command. Also, try stretching out your wrists and fingers between matches. That works for me when I'm having a long practice session.

I remember my left thumb would feel bruised when I first started playing. I definitely did, and still, push the stick too hard. After about 2 months, it never hurt again. Even after I had stopped playing melee for 5 years, it hasn't hurt since I started playing again.

If the pain persists, I'd see a doctor.

Have you tried wrist, finger and hand stretches? I really suggest you try some. I have broken my wrist, sprained fingers, dislocated fingers and wrist, and even after going through that pain I'm still able to play smash, go to the gym, and work in a computer for 4 hours without feeling pain.
