what are your strategies to beating a handicapped person? Whenever I play handicapped i find myself playing better because i do more rolls and shield combos because i know that ina few hits i will die. i guess it makes me concentrate harder.

Personally, I can turn matches into handicap matches very quickly. I mean the people I play don't like to see me with to many lifes
.
Anyway, my best stratagey is to see the attacks, and never be there. I run around like mad and try and get 1 or 2 alone for the moment and fight and always stay on my toes. I agree with you Smaug, it brings the best out of you.

With Handicapps on, I get defensive. You *must* pick and choose you attacks. If not, you will be quickly smoked.

1. Be cheap(answer to everything). Use pikachu or CF, or hit and run constantly
2. Don't worry about attacks that make them go far. Rack up damage(such as samus' down+B) and then throw them when they're ready.
3. Get them off the edge, and don't lettem back on.

I try not to run, it tends to get people running after you. I go on the offensive trying to rack up damage and had my friends forget who had the handicap. Go for the combos don't let them hit you. Always attack first and roll never block. And use area attack moves to your advantage. If you can hit and hurt everyone at once, why not? But don't forget to get in the next hit afterwards.
All in all: Combos, Combos, Combos...

Samus: Maybe you should remove the gag first?

Oh yes fox is a master at hit and run.

When they are about to catch up, suddenly stop and use your down+a! Stops them right in their tracks, and knocks them back a few also. Also when being chased use:

Reflector(Down+B)
Fire-Fox(Up+B)
Roll behind them(Z+towards opponent)

Simply let someone else beat down on someone then steal his well deserved kill. Besides they will just track you down and beat you senceless if you tried to face 'em hand to hand. You're moves will barely make them flinch if they are full recovered and you'll be sent skyward in less time then you can flinch.

Between you and me there's only us.
Handicaps r hard. Handicap 1 is pretty much the only handicap I play, and it makes lvl 9 comps difficult, when I'm their only target anyhow.

Sometimes I handicap myself. Just today I had a five live, no cheap weapon, peaches castle link vs Jiggly (me). My rules were that I could only use the Down B, Shield, and pick up pokeballs. I couldn't pick up any other items, at all.

Well fox is just about the best person in handicap. Hello!? hes fast so he almost always hits the person instead of vise virsa. and some of his attacks have serious knocking power. bang... you're the winner in no time

I'm usually the one with the handicap...Because I end up going 1v2 against my bro and friend, pika vs. 2 DK's. I can sometimes get them even but usually go something like a 6 handicap to 2 4 handicaps...
Handicap sucks though, I don't like it.

I have never thought about using handicaps when against my newbie friends. Maybe they'll play me if I do that.
Thanks All.

I usually give whoever I'm playing a big fat handicap. That way I can get some real practice in, and whoop them all over.

Lol it's like a rolling on the floor circle of pain.

I thought something about this thread was off... I was wondering why no one familiar was posting before I noticed it was 2001.
