I'm just curious to see if anyone actually uses this option.

I loved how it worked in Melee. Teaming up with two friends, setting our handicap to 2 or 3, and fighting a CPU with theirs set to 9 made for interesting matches.

Brawl's handicap just seems really basic and lazy on Nintendo's part.

We don't even use the same handicap system in P:M as Brawl's. Just saying.

Huh... I never actually noticed that input assist completely replaced it, since I never used Brawl's more than once. Well I'm dumb.

I guess delete this topic plz. :ohwell:

Out of curiosity, what was the difference between Brawl's handicap and Melee's?

Melee's Handicap adjusted the amount of knockback you gave and received on a scale from 1 to 9, with 1 being weakest, 9 strongest, and 5 being neutral/game default.

Brawl's handicap you just start each stock at a preset percentage.

Ahh boo, I didn't even realize that.

I don't think I'd ever used handicap, though, even in Melee. Although that does sound like it'd make for a fun game-type - FFA where one guy has his handicap on 9 and everyone else is on 1. Oh ho ho ho.

P:M handicap system is the stock system, when you can set your own stock count.

Now that. Is a real handicap.

And it's great.
