There are occasionally small tournaments in Richmond. Can't say I've been to one that involved money though. I'm still too much of a newb for that 
But there are definitely players here if you're just looking for friendlies.

I'm sure they do, but I don't travel too much nor do I have a lot of contact with them. I'm sure there are plenty of people in that FB group nearby you to play some smash with though.

Well, I'm going to be moving back to Hampton in a couple of weeks and I was trying to get a hold of a copy of Super Smash Bros. Melee because I want to start improving my smash skills beyond the basic "hit or run" tactics that I employ against my cousins. If I'm lucky, I hope to be a Mewtwo main.
