Well, this is apparently old news but because I'm not really into Halo I didn't hear about it until today, but there is a Halo anime coming out. I am not kidding, an anime series based off of Halo is coming out, and the Japanese are making it. Why is this so weird? Well, the only reason why is because Halo has piratically zero popularity in Japan, along with the 360. But Microsoft must have payed them nicely to make this, and here's your proof that I'm not making all of this up. Behold, a five minuet preview of Halo Legends:

From those little disjointed clips, here are a few criticisms that I have to make. First of all, it suffers from the same thing that almost ALL of anime suffers from as in ITS THE EXACT SAME THING AS EVERYTHING ELSE IN ITS GENRE. I really can't say that the whole thing is like this, but the very minuet I saw the hotheaded, egotistic main character I thought to myself "Hmm. I wonder if his hotheadedness is going to get him in trouble, like it always does." And while yes, the animation is nice you jsut can't shake the feeling that you've seen this all before, that and the covenant look like potential 5th-gen Pokemon. And honestly, even the action isn't particularly impressive, all this really feels like is just one big ball of mediocrity, you know, just like most other anime. Oh well, good thing I'm not into Halo otherwise this would feel like a kick in the balls the same way Dragonball Kai did.

I think you're right; it's just a marketing scheme to get the 360 a market in Japan. Making a mediocre tv show for the kids to eat up might be just what Microsoft needs to make the leap. But only time will tell.

either way though, I'm not watching it >.>
