Ladies and Gentlemen, it's time for Round 2 of our 2015 Season of Gwinnett Brawl! Our first tournament of the year exceeded our expectations more than we could imagine. Let's continue bringing the heat as Final Round quickly approaches us.

GAME LINE-UP:

- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (with CUSTOM MOVES! Check the information posted below for more details.)
- Ultra Street Fighter IV (Xbox 360)
- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (Xbox 360)

DATE AND TIME:

- Saturday, February 21st, 2015
- Registration for ALL games will begin at 5:30 PM.
- Smash Bros. tournament will start at 6:30 PM.
- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Ultra Street Fighter IV tournaments will start at 8:00 PM.
- If you are running late and cannot arrive before the start of your tournament, call somebody at the venue to enter you into the bracket before we start.

LOCATION:

The Wasteland Gaming
3700 Satellite Blvd.
Duluth, GA 30096

STREAM: http://www.twitch.tv/gbdojo

COST OF ENTRY AND PAYOUT:

- $5 Venue Fee per player
- $5 Entry Fee per player per game
- top 3 payout per game: 70/20/10

BRINGING A SETUP:

- If we need additional setups for any of the tournament games and if you can bring one for us, then we'll waive your $5 venue fee. A full setup includes: monitor, console, and game. A full setup for Smash should also include a Gamecube controller adapter.

- Our preferred displays for tournament play are LOW-LATENCY 1080p LCD COMPUTER MONITORS with HDMI input. We will accept any such monitor that is rated 10ms or lower by DisplayLag (http://www.displaylag.com/display-database). HDTVs tend to lag more than computer monitors and are unlikely to be accepted unless we can verify that they meet this threshold. SD CRTs are also discouraged; we may use one if we're short on setups but we would prefer an HDMI monitor instead.

- Any game + console setup you bring should have all relevant gameplay content available (e.g. unlockable characters and stages). Don't worry about custom moves for Smash; we will unlock those on your console for you.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND RULES:

- double elimination bracket for all games

- Primary seeding will be done by skill/performance. Top 4 seeds will be granted to the highest-placing players from previous Gwinnett Brawls.

- Secondary seeding will be done by region/group. When signing up, either list the area that you hail from (city if in Georgia, state or country if not GA) OR list the crew that you play with the most (e.g. GGC, P2W, FH, etc). We will make sure not to match people from the same city/group against each other in the first round.

- The remainder of the bracket will be seeded randomly.

- Competitors should not leave the tournament area without first notifying the TOs. You will be disqualified if you do not report to your matches in a timely manner.

- The winner of each match must report their victories to the TO so that it can be recorded in the bracket.

UNIVERSAL GAME RULES:

- Game options are generally set to their default values unless otherwise specified below.

- The winner of a game usually has to keep the same selections (character/team, ultra, etc.) for the next game except in instances specified below.

- Glitches that halt gameplay entirely (e.g. anything that causes the game to freeze) and exploits that are only possible via hacking (e.g. Galactus and duplicate characters in UMvC3) are banned. Other glitches will be judged at the tournament organizers' discretion.

- Draws do not count as a win for both players unless the game explicitly defines them as such (e.g. the in-game win counter actually increases by 1 as a result of a draw). Otherwise, in the event that two players have a draw game, the game must be replayed as if it didn't happen at all, with the exact same character/stage/etc. selections for both players.

- Pausing a game in progress will allow your opponent to take the round. The only exceptions are instances of "inevitable defeat" (i.e. pausing in the middle of a cinematic super attack that is guaranteed to KO the opponent anyway).

- All in-game button config options (e.g. 3-punches, one-button dash) are allowed.

- Turbo fire and other hardware-assisted mechanisms are forbidden.

- Wired controllers are strongly encouraged in order to avoid syncing issues and to keep the tournament running smoothly. Wireless controllers are permitted, but you risk disqualification if your controller causes any mishaps in another player's match.

- Cronus brand converters are banned. The legality of all other controllers, sticks, and converters will be decided at the tournament organizers' discretion.

- You are responsible for your own controller/stick/converter. We cannot provide them for you.

ULTRA STREET FIGHTER IV RULES:

- played on Xbox 360

- 99 seconds per round, 2/3 rounds per game, 2/3 games per match, Edition Select = Off, no handicap

- Winners Final, Losers Final, and Grand Final are 3/5 games per match.

- If players cannot agree on a stage, then it will be decided by random select.

- The winner of a game may change ultra in the next game, but he has to pick his ultra first.

ULTIMATE MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3 RULES:

- played on Xbox 360

- 99 seconds per round, 3/5 games per match, default handicap, default damage

- If players cannot agree on a stage, then it will be decided by random select.

- The winner of a game must select the same characters, assists, and team order at the selection screen for the next game, but he may change character order at the loading screen.

SUPER SMASH BROS. FOR WII U RULES:

- CUSTOM MOVES AND MIIS ARE ALLOWED. Check this post for more details: http://www.facebook.com/events/806069132775750/permalink/806159189433411

- 2 stocks per game, 6 minutes per game, 2/3 games per match, all items OFF, item frequency set to NONE

- Winners Final, Losers Final, and Grand Final are 3/5 games per match.

- Draws will be decided by whomever has the lowest percentage at time-over. Sudden death will not be used.

- Winner is allowed to change characters if loser decides to counterpick with a different stage.

- Stage of first match must be chosen from Starter Stage list. Stage is decided via Stage Striking (player 1 strikes first stage, player 2 strikes second, etc).

- Player who won previous game may ban 2 stages from either starter or counterpick stage list.

- Stage Clause: A player may not pick the same stage he or she won on in a previous match of the set.

- Starter Stages: Final Destination, Battlefield, Smashville, Town and City, Lylat Cruise

- Counterpick Stages: Castle Siege, Delfino Plaza, Duck Hunt, Halberd, Skyloft, Pokemon Stadium 2, Omega Stages *banning FD bans ALL omega stages*

Hello! I plan to attend, but I have a quick question. Will there be enough Smash 4 setups for friendlies?

There is usually at least an hour's worth of friendlies before the tournament begins, so your best chance to get some games in is to get there early. Sometimes there are extra stations on the side during the tournament as well but it's not a guarantee because we're usually a little pressed for setups and time.
