So basically all of you know the Ledgedash, the high/medium risk high reward back on stage option that has been used in tournament play for many years.

I found a way to reduce the SD rate to 1/4 of what it used to be (the sd rate might be so low it doesn't even exist)

The only thing is, this form of ledgedashing is pretty frame tight so you'll have to practice just a bit for it to become second nature.

Here are the steps:

1: Perform the Tournament Winner (ledge jump getup just incase XD)

2: Around the first few airborne frames, wavedash.

If done perfectly, your character will land just like the traditional method of ledgedashing, and ofcourse, he will have the invincibility frames due to good timing.

If done mediocrely/ok, you will see the character airdodging into the ground a few inches away from the ground, and you will have a much tighter window to punish.

I hope you have enjoyed learning this tech and enjoyed this read, Farewell!

No, triangle jumping would be a jump and then airdodge into the ground at a diagonal. Also synonymous with "really really bad wavedash", though triangle jumping would be its own thing, as well.

As kip said, it's been known about for almost ever. It's utility is pretty limited, though. Really, just the dipping dj characters (peach, ness, etc...) make good use of it, since it's the only method for them to get a usable ledgedash.

For everyone else, you're better off just practicing your ledgedashing in general.

Well, Bowser has frame 3 IASA on his ledge jump so he gets something like 14 actionable invincibility frames out of a frame perfect ledge jump waveland IIRC, as opposed to... Nothing I think off of ledge dash?

List of characters who can invincibly grab out of this maneuver, assuming frame perfect inputs:
Zelda
Peach
Ganon
DK
Roy

Bowser gets up to 8 frames of leeway.

G&W grabbox is out the 1st frame of vulnerability.

It's easiest to practice this on Yoshi's Story due to the curved ground near the ledge, but works on every legal stage.

Also not mentioned, this only works if you're below 100%. If you're above that %, then ledgedash is likely your best option.
